David Morrell in Benavidez “Wakes the Beast.

Gabriel Rosado and David Morrell have unleashed “the beast” on WBC interim light heavyweight champion David Benavidez with his relentless taunting in their fight this Saturday, February 1st at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Rosado Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) feels like he’s going to attack Morel (11-0, 9 KOs), looking to jam punches for a shot in their 12-round main event clash on Prime Video on PBC. PPV

Benavidez isn’t used to being old and limited. “RoboCop” Combative by his opponents, but technically skilled, Cuba is surprised at how basic Morel is as a fighter. He’s been fighting at 168 all these years with his size and volume and now he finally gets his first shot at a real threat in David Morrell.

For Benavidez, a 12-year-old pro who is taking his first test, the game is late and it could be different on Saturday night.

“Different Beasts.”

“I love Benavidez. I’ve known him for years. I love Benavidez, but you can’t sleep on Morel. This is a fight that Benavidez shouldn’t have even taken. It was Morel who needed this fight,” said Gabe Rosado. Fight Hub TVWBA ‘regular’ light heavyweight champion David Morrell argues that he needs a fight with the interim WBC 175-lb champion David Benavidez.

“Morell is hitting the jackpot. So, if he can make it through this fight, he’s there because nobody was calling Morell out. So, it shows what kind of dog Benavidez is. Let’s go. Let’s run,” Rosado said after Benavidez called out Morel for the first time in 2022. For years, he has shown no interest in fighting.

I think he is Awakening another kind of beast in Benavidez Because nobody’s going to do that to Benavidez,” Gabe said of Morel’s trash talk, repeatedly questioning his courage and saying he couldn’t throw a punch.

WBA ‘regular’ 175-lb champion Morel is the belt holder in this fight, not Benavidez, so he won’t win the jackpot by winning this fight. If Morel was a non-belt contender, you could argue that he “hit his peak,” but that’s not the case. Benavidez is needy here.

“It will be a fire extinguisher. They both clash and who can take it because they both shoot to the ground. I think Morel is the bigger puncher of the two, but Benavidez blows you away. So what is he going to win?” Rosado said.

This may not be as clean a fire as Rosado thought, as he is about to make a move from Morel, who hails from the Cuban school of wrestling. Benavidez stood up like the fighters he fought in the first 11 years of his career. The Cubans have the right ring to their IQ, and are no match for loudmouthed fighters like Benavidez.

Power vs. Voice

“Is it going to be power or is it going to be volume? I don’t think Morel can match Benavidez’s size because that’s what it comes down to. He’s going to punch you constantly, he doesn’t get tired,” Rosado said.

In his fight with ‘Monster of Mexico’ Benavidez last June he was very tired and looked tired in the eighth round. Benavidez is now fighting at 175 and the extra weight he carries now gets to him.

Moreover, his shots at lightweight are tougher than when he campaigned at 168 against the likes of David Lemieux, Anthony Dirrell, Demetrius Andrade and Caleb Plant. He didn’t like the power he tasted in his first match against Gvozdyk at 175.

Benavidez’s volume attacks only work against stationary fighters. Fighters like William Zepeda and Benavidez who rely on sound to win are outclassed by fighters who move and shoot.

That’s why Zepeda had so much trouble against Tevin Farmer and why Benavidez is struggling to win points against Morel. He’s forced into a long game by throwing single shots and that’s not Benavidez’s forte.

“So Morel definitely has to set traps and land some big shots in that fight,” Rosado said.

Robocop style dangerous

Morel will probably box, move and pin Benavidez all night long. Benavidez talks a lot of punches with him. Robocop style attack, and that makes Morel’s terrifying power even more devastating.

If you’re Benavidez, he’d better put that style on the shelf permanently because he’ll be outshone by Morel, Artur Beterbiev, Joshua Buassi and Dimitri Bivol.

Benavidez fought a limited opponent in his long years at 168 and was defeated by that classic method. He can’t do that without finishing at 175. Palukville In a year or two, if it even lasts that long. As he did in his light heavyweight debut against Gvozdyk, Benavidez can’t keep hitting without becoming an over-the-hill fighter too soon.

The ‘Mexican Monster’ has already had a long twelve-year pro career, and since the injuries have piled up, physically, he has often shown that he has begun to break down like many fighters in the game.

Chronologically, Benavidez is young at 28 years old, but the punishment to his head is similar to that of a fighter who has been in the sport for more than a decade. It’s even worse with Benavidez because he’s aggressive, aggressive.
