Dan Campbell: It would be ‘ridiculous’ for Aaron Glenn not to get a head coaching job

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has been named as a likely candidate for most head coaching vacancies in the NFL, and his boss believes it’s time for Glenn to get a new job.

Detroit coach Dan Campbell said today that Glenn is the perfect candidate for any team in need of a coach.

“Aaron Glenn is as good a coach as you’ll find, and he’s an even better human being,” Campbell said. “If no one wanted him I’d take him back, I can tell you that now, but the idea of going through another cycle and he’s not someone’s coach is ridiculous. This guy is as good as they come. He can do it all. He understands how to run the game. He understands “Offense, defense, special teams. He knows how to communicate. He understands players’ discipline and he’s motivated. I don’t want to lose him, but I also root for him because I think he’s a great coach.”

Glenn is in his fourth year as the Lions’ defensive coordinator and has been a big part of their turnaround. Campbell wants to bring him back for a fifth year. But he doesn’t think it should be.
