Cowboys makes the Nick Sorensen employment as a special team coordinator official

The team announced on Tuesday that Koboz made the employment of Nick Sorensen responsible for the coordinator of special teams.

Sorensen, the 49ers defensive coordinator in 2024, replaces John Vasle. Vasel left to become the coordinator of the private teams in Jabbara before the appointment of Brian Shuttenheimer as a head coach.

Surinsen worked as a coordinator of the special teams for only one season in his career. This came in 2021 with Jaguars on employees with Schottenheimer as a traffic game coordinator.

Schottenheimer and Sorensen were also with Sehawks from 2018-20.

Surinsen, 46, joined 49ers in 2022 as a defensive assistant before he became a specialist in the team’s defensive game and coach Nickels. He was a defensive coordinator for only one season, as San Francisco replaced him with former Jets coach Robert Saleh.
