Connor Zilisch will miss Saturday’s XFinity Series race on Texas Motor Speedway as he recovered from the lower back injuries sustained in an accident in Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, Trackhouse Racing announced Wednesday.
Zilisch is a developmental driver for Trackhouse Racing. He competes in the Xfinity series for JR Motorsports.
Trackhouse Racing said: “The Trackhouse Racing Development Driver plans to return to the No. 88 yr Motorsports Chevrolet as soon as possible.”
After Texas, the XFinity series is down until May 24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Zilisch ran for the win this past weekend when the contact of friend Jesse Love turned on the last shot of Zilisch and sent his car head-to-up in the safer barrier on the inside of the rear wall.
Zilisch told the CW network after leaving the Infield Care Center: “It was one of the wrecks where you move your legs and make everything feel good afterwards.”
Zilisch is sixth in the points that enter this weekend’s race in Texas. He has a win. He is eligible for a waiver of the play -off match because he missed the Texas race.
