College and Solheim Cup Rivals Jennifer Kupcho and Leona Maguire leading team event


Midland, Mich. – Jennifer Kupcho and Leon Maguire recorded 10-man’s 60 in a better bead on Friday to take the second round in the Dow Championship, the only LPGA team event.

Rivals Solheim Cup had a total of 13 smaller 127 in Medland Country Club after opening with an alternative shot 67 on Thursday.

“The plan today was just to give myself as many chances as possible, try to get two chances in every hole,” Maguire said, Ireland, while Kupcho attended the forest. “We mostly did it. It was nice to start with birdies and the type of eagle very early to return the ball.”

They had single leadership of Kassian Porter and Gemma Dryburgh, the leaders of the first round that failed the last six holes in 62. The teams will play another alternative round Saturday, and close on Sunday.
