Canelo Alvarez is negotiating with Terence Crawford for September, Mexico’s Independence Day, for Alvarez’s three super middleweight bouts at 168, with no watershed clause.
If the Canelo-Crawford fight is made, Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KOs) could face IBF champion William Scullan on the Cinco de Mayo weekend in May. Canelo will be heavily favored against Scull to reclaim his IBF title.
Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) walks in the 170s, so moving up to 168 to challenge Canelo shouldn’t be a big deal for him. The main problem Crawford has is trying to win a fight with Canelo. If Terrence is going to follow Mayweather’s blueprint and box Canelo, as his trainer Brian ‘Bomack’ McIntyre has said he will, it won’t work to get a decision.
Canelo is landing more punches than Crawford, but the judges will focus on the big shots. That’s how Canelo beat Erisland Lara, who was much bigger and stronger than Crawford, but didn’t have enough pop in his punches to win a decision.
We don’t know the exact reason for wanting the Crawford fight against Canelo. He says it’s about “legacy” but also mentions money and doesn’t want to go to 168 to make adjustments in the weight room. This is the fear in Crawford. It turns out that it’s only about money for him. I feel like this is just about fortune for him because if he really believed he would move up in weight to super middleweight and show that he can compete in this division by beating one or two of the top dogs.
Since he didn’t do that, Crawford makes it abundantly clear that he only wants a retirement payday against Canelo. it’s good. You blame the chaos. If Turkey is willing to give Crawford the dough, that’s up to him, but many fans will feel foolish and ripped off for wasting their money on a Jermel Charlo 2.0 mismatch. Crawford isn’t as big or strong as Jermell. He’s definitely not as young as Jermell when he fights Canelo, Terence will be. 38 bTime to fight Canelo in September.
So it doesn’t matter if he loses. Crawford was credited with the rest of his career in his losing streak against Canelo. He can spend the rest of his life eating caviar and drinking it with glasses. Pinky in the airspeaking with an affected fake English accent of the upper crust in super-rich American society.
Keyshawn’s Crawford Crusade
“How much do you count Terence,” Keyshawn Davis said. Milk City Box It’s something he disagrees with about his gym buddy and close friend Terence Crawford not having the chance to face Canelo Alvarez in September.
“They’re going to say how big Canelo is compared to Terence, and that he has no chance because of his size. You can box him and still KO him,” Keyshawn Crawford said when asked if he could knock out Canelo or try to box his way to a decision win.
“Anybody can get KO’d in there. I wouldn’t count him out for KO’ing Canelo, but definitely boxing him out to beat him. Me, put me on that card in Co-Wana. I don’t give anything, put me on that card. I’m going to be a world champion (Keyshawn Hope),” Davis said.
Keyshawn’s friendship with Crawford should not blind him to the fight for what is. He’s not knocking Canelo. After tasting his power earlier, he’s too busy running from it. Crawford was undefeated in his debut at 154 on August 3 of last year against Israel Madrimov. His strength did not exceed 147, and at the end of the fight he was beaten all over his face. Madrymov spoiled him, and he was lucky to get the decision because big, clean and effective punches tend to land on champions.
“Yo, Turk (Al-Sheikh), put me on the card,” Keyshawn begged Turk to partner him in the Canelo vs. Crawford fight. “You know who I want to fight. I would love to fight Isaac Cruz. I don’t know why. It’s just me feeling it, and it performs well. I feel like it’s an action-packed fight. I also like to fight ‘Rio’ (Jose Valenzuela). I feel like both guys are always coming to fight.”
It’s too late to fight Keyshawn Isaac Cruz because he’s already fighting next to Ryan Garcia. He can’t fight Keyshawn and wrestle him to the ground.
“I’d love to fight both guys, they’re both at 140,” Keyshawn said. We don’t have to fight for the belt,” he said. “We can fight. Let’s just fight and both men lose. So, it’s not like they’re running or running to avoid losing their OS. I’m sure not to miss any O’s (note: Keyshawn refused to fight Andy Cruz, who beat him four times). I just want to fight.
“Win, lose, or draw, I’m making millions of dollars. i don’t care. I definitely want to fight those two guys. I want to fight those guys. Just an action-packed fight. Neither of us is giving ground, and we are trying to control the center of the ring. We’re both trying to get closer,” Keyshawn said when asked how the battle between him and 5’4” Issac Cruz is going.
“I’ll keep throwing. I’m not saying you’re going to fight this guy in the middle of the ring. You saw when I fought Miguel Madeno (using a lot of grappling, picking up Madino, a lot of pushing and rabbit punching) the whole fight on the back foot, in some rounds, I was going forward, and in some rounds (most of them) he was going backwards. I mean, (recently beaten) Isaac Cruz is going to be an action-packed fight, and I feel like it’s going to be good for the sport of boxing,” Davis said.
Keyshawn should put a sock in it. Isaac Cruz has bigger fish to fry in mega money, negotiating mega money with superstar Ryan Garcia on the Turkey Al Sheik card in Manhattan, New York’s Times Square. Cruz is wasting no time against Keyshawn Davis, fighting for a change of champ, and he’s going to put up an ugly, nasty fight all night long.
If Keyhaun wants a fight, he’ll need to find some courage to avenge at least one of his losses to the talented Cuban and face four-time champion Andy Cruz. I don’t think Keisho will do it, but he needs to show that he’s not fake.
No contracts have been signed yet, but if all is said and done, Canelo Alvarez, boxing’s superstar, and Terence Crawford are set to meet on Mexico’s Independence Day weekend in September. And, Crawford says, at 168 pounds, it’s done with no hydration clause. pic.twitter.com/Gw0DoA21uH
