Bristol, tenn. – For each of her children’s birthdays, Elizabeth Love compiles a video.
For Son Jesse’s 20th birthday in January, Elizabeth Love used footage when Jesse, then 5, went to the track to ride a quarter dwarf for the first time.
“You can see the appearance of the little boy’s face, he was never afraid,” Elizabeth said of her son. “From the moment he gets into the car … you could only see it in Jesse’s eyes, you can see it through the shield on his helmet, that he is like” ok, I got it. “And there he goes. “
That little boy – he will always be that little boy for parents, Elizabeth and Jesshill “Duke” Love – will make his cup debut on Bristol Motor Speedway today. Jesse Love begins 19th, next to former cup champion Chase Elliott in the 10th row.
Jesse Love tries to take it all as if it were another day for a manager who became the latest champion in Nascar history when he claimed his first of the back-to-back Arca Menards series West title in 2020 at the age of 15.
Jesse said he used the drive from the Charlotte area to Bristol on Friday to wander his mind on the hilly journey over the journey he went to this point.
“It was like driving to Baylands, where I grew up, a dwarf quarter,” says the Menlo Park, California. “I think it was similar to a similar, such as terrain and route. It was a nice emotional experience for me.
“I can remember when I was, six, six, eight years old, a quarter dwarf with my father, and drove this windy path in one way or one track road to the go-kart lane and now did the same thing to go to a cup of race. It was a very nice complete circular moment for me. ‘
Success joined Jesse on the journey through the ranks of Racing. He claimed the Arca Menards series at the age of 1823. He made the playoffs in 2024 as a newcomer to the XFINITY SERIES.
Jesse started his second season in Xfinity by winning from Daytona for his second career series victory. How many more seasons he has seen in the series at Richard Childress Racing.
A full -time cup rit seems to be in its near future.
While Jesse was preparing for his first cup ride, his father, who chased Jeff Gordon with Jeff Gordon and was friends with him and Gordon’s stepfather John Bickford, was thinking about something Bickford told him a few years ago.
“When Jesse was about 14, I said,” John, it looks like we may have done it … and I said, what do you think? “” Duke Love said. “He said,” Well, you must realize that Duke is putting your child in a cup of car … the equivalent of a needle through an asteroid field blindfolded. “And I never forgot it. ‘
Jesse climbs into the no. 33 for today’s race, a third entry for RCR. His parents will be there with him in front of the watch and watch from Pit Road.
Jesse said he ran about 2000 rounds on a simulator or irritation to prepare for this race. There are many uncertainties, after all.
“I’m just looking forward to seeing the depth of the field and how hard you run for the 30th place,” Jesse said. “It’s very easy for me to run in the top 10 of an Xfinity race, right? It’s like climbing Mount Everest to run top-10 over the weekend (in cup). So I look forward to seeing like the depth of the field. And then of course I don’t know what I don’t know, nor.
“So there are many things I don’t know what I’m going to be curious about, but I will find out in the race fairly quickly. It will probably be a few things like Pit Road and start again and then aggression level. These are three things I will try to find out when I leave the racetrack how to bridge the gap.
“… So, yes, there are many things I am curious about and many things I know I will have to find out at the moment.”
