Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin on Monday He canceled the initial launch of his New Glenn rocket due to last-minute problems with the vehicle, his bid to compete with Elon Musk’s SpaceX in the satellite space.
The festival would depart from Florida’s Cape Canaveral starting at 1:00 am.
“Today we are holding up the launch attempt to resolve the vehicle subsystem issue that will take us beyond our launch window,” the company said on social media platform X.
Blue Origin said they were looking at options for the next launch.
At an altitude of 320 meters, the partially reusable New Glenn rocket experienced delays in its liftoff time before the final decision was made to abort the launch.
“As part of the long-term vision, we really need to protect this planet. And the role of space technologies.” said Ariane Cornell, Blue Origin’s vice president of space systems, in a live stream of the planned liftoff. “That’s why we started with reusable rockets and reusable engines.”
