Chris Lynn hammered 5 fours and 3 sixes to hammer 47 off just 20 balls in a revelry that set the tone early. Alex Ross played a vital role in the later stages, scoring 44 off 19 deliveries with 5 fours and 2 sixes to ensure the batsmen crossed the 250-mark.

The Brisbane Heat bowlers struggled to find a surface that was comfortable to hit. Matthew Kuhneman was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/50 while Mitchell Swepson claimed 2 wickets but conceded 41 runs. The rest of the offense, including Michael Nezer and Xavier Bartlett, has sprung up at an alarming rate.

Nathan McSweeney scored with an impressive 43 off 24 balls supported by Matt Renshaw’s quickfire 34 off 16 balls. Lower down the order, Spencer Johnson hit a heroic 27 off 13 balls. Heat bowled out for 195 in 20 overs.

D’Arcy Madame Short was the hero of the strikers with a brilliant spell of 4/15 in 3 overs to destroy the Heat midfield. Lloyd Bishop (2/44) and Liam Haskett (2/43) provided crucial hits, while Jordan Buckingham managed a wicket. The attacking bowlers executed their plans efficiently, never letting the heat get too hot.
