Aphrodite Deng, 15, becomes the first Canadian winner in the American girl Junior History

“It really means a lot. I just can’t believe I won,” Deng said. “I didn’t think about the end result because I knew there were many good players here. I just tried to win every match.”

Deng had a 4-up lead over 16-year-old Chen – the first player from Singapore to achieve a championship match – after 18 holes. Chen reduced the deficit twice in two per second 18, last with a pair-in-34 win. Deng him 35. ended with the appropriate Chen’s couple.
