Andy Cruz next fight: Omar Salcido on January 25th

Lightweight contender Andy Cruz faces Omar Salcido in a 10-round co-headlining bout this month on the Eddie Hearn Promoted Matchroom card on January 25th at the Las Vegas Cosmopolitan, Chelsea Ballroom in Las Vegas. Super middleweight contender Diego Pacheco will fight Steven Nelson in the main event.

‘Diamond’ Andy Cruz (4-0, 2 KOs) is being fast tracked by Hearn thanks to his impressive amateur race in Cuba. In the year He beat American fighter Keishaun Davis to win the 2020 Olympic gold medal. This was Cruz’s fourth win over Davis, and it was effortless.

Salcido (20-1, 14 KOs) is coming off a huge ninth round knockout win over Chris Colbert on Oct. 16 of last year. Colbert was once viewed as a future world champion and super featherweight star. The work has reached a low level in the last three years.

Cruz is ranked #4 WBA, #5 WBC and #6 IBF at lightweight. He will have to fight better opposition again and again to get a world title soon. None of the majors want to fight Andy, which is understandable. Hearn is predictable.
