Amateur Legend Jay Sigel Dies in 81. Years, the USGA confirms


Jay Sigel, one of the biggest amateurs in golf history, died on Saturday. He was 81.

The USGA confirmed his death, tied to the pancreatic cancer.

Sigel won in 1982. I ’83 American amateurs and 1979. British amateur. He also won three US headings (1982, ’85 and ’87) and competed in nine walking cups, mostly in the history of events for the United States, including twice as a playing captain.
