Long Pond, Pa-Alex Bowman holds the last play-off match with nine races left in the regular season after his 11th place on Pocono Raceway on Sunday.
Bowman fell a place to just above the cut in the standings. He entered Pocono three points in front of Chris Buescher, who held the last playoff game. Buescher finished the fourth Sunday and scored 48 points for Bowman’s 27 to Leapfrog Bowman.
Buescher also passed Bubba Wallace in the playoffs after Wallace finished 36th and scored one point after an accident.
Bowman has a 20 -point lead on Ryan Preece for the final play -off match in Saturday night’s race on Echopark Speedway, the track previously known as Atlanta Motor Speedway. Wallace is 29 points ahead of Preece. Buescher is 38 points ahead of Preece.
The play -off field will be introduced after the August 23 race at Daytona International Speedway on NBC.
