The United Nations (UN) has announced that it has suspended all movements in Yemen, UN staff in the capital, Sanaa.
The UN said it was actively working with Houthi officials to try to release all detained staff. There has been no official statement from the Houthis yet.
This is not the first time the Group has arrested UN staff – a large number of staff were arrested last year. The Houthis have also arrested some 20-year-old US embassy staff over the past three years.
Human rights groups also accuse hundreds of civilians of having their weapons seized, tortured and held in arbitrary detention.
It has backed Iran in Yemen against a Saudi-led coalition that has been fighting for nearly a decade. The conflict, after the Houthis ousted the Yemeni government, has been at a standstill for the past two years.
But international attention has been renewed for the targeting of ships in the Red Sea and shooting at Israelis over the past fortnight.
Their actions have triggered retaliatory strikes by the US, Israel and the UK on Houthi positions in Yemi.
Since the Gaza ceasefire began, the Houthis have said they will reduce shipping attacks and may stop firing on Israel if the truce holds.
The first actions of President Trump were the first received, however, to order the Houthis foreign organizations return the list of foreign organizations.
Despite all this, the group remains in control of large areas of Yemen.
The country was the poorest in the Middle East before the start of 2015.
UN agencies provide essential livelihoods to millions of Yemenis with food and medical aid.
But they have regularly had problems with people further away from the main towns and cities. Houthi officials regularly reported that humanitarian aid had been obstructed in the regions they control.
