A further response to the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones exhibition

I’m glad Mike Tyson and Roy Jones came out of their fight or exhibition unscathed. But at the same time, I felt disappointed and robbed after watching it. I think it’s mainly because of Roy Jones’ performance and I’ll talk about exactly why in the video below.

Now in the year I wasn’t expecting to see the 2010 Roy Jones, but I was expecting more than seeing him waste time trying to get through laps.

I understand that he doesn’t want to get hurt (and I don’t want to see him get hurt) and that he’s probably thinking about his health first and foremost. But they seem to have promised a lot to the construction of this exhibition. So I expected more than I got. But Iron Mike lost about 100lbs of weight and prepared himself to do eight rounds at the age of 54. That’s amazing.

Although I’m not happy with this fight, I have nothing but respect for these two for being the greatest fighters ever.
