Trump says they are planning a meeting with Putin

Donald Trump has said that a meeting is being planned between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The US president-elect did not give a timeline for when the meeting might take place.

“He wants to meet and we’re setting him up,” he said in a statement at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Trump has promised to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine immediately after taking office on January 20, and has expressed skepticism about US military and financial aid to Kiev.
