Thousands of Palestinians return to northern Gaza

Thousands of Palestinians are returning to northern Gaza after Israel and Hamas reached a deal this week to release six hostages.

The Palestinians were due to return at the weekend, but the clashes were held over a hostage taken by Israel’s Arbel Yehud by Hamas.

Hamas released four soldiers on Saturday, but not Yehud, a civilian, who Israel accused of violating the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Yehud and the other two hostages are now due to be released on Thursday.
