Wimbledon’s final candidate Jabiur’s fourth -descent Paolini was defeated by the first round of the Italians in the second round of the Berlin Tennis Open by the fourth -national candidate of Wimbledon in 2022 and 2021.
Jabur may face Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrosova or Diana Shanider in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Paulini was playing for the first time after winning the French Open Doubles title with fellow Italian Sarah Irani. Paulini lost to Elina Switolina in the fourth round of the French Open Singles.
