The son of Tiger Woods is in the center of attention after a great victory; Jack Nickuus knows heavy road

Golf is heavy enough without a famous father who has strained hard to match as well as the best. Tiger Woods must be watching it takes place in the next few years.

Jack Nickus has already seen.

A few hours before Scottie Scheffler started to win the memorial to the second year in the second year, Nickuaus asked about another big victory that week. Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of the largest names in golf won his first American junior name of the Golf Association.

The miracle he wins – Scheffler or Woods – they got more attention on social media.

“I think it’s hard on children,” Niclaus said, speaking from experience.

His oldest son, Jackie, won the prestigious in the north and south amateur in Pinehurst and played his faculty golf in North Carolina. It was nothing compared to your third oldest son. Long before Gary Nickus became the only one of the four gold cubs to earn a PGA tour, he made a lid of sports illustrated. He was 16 years old.

“Next Nickus,” the title said. The father clearly remembers him.

“He ran him out of golf,” Niclaus said.

Some context is needed. Gary Nickus played four years in Ohio (one title), earned a European tourist card and received through the Q-school in 1999. in order to earn the PGA tourist card. But Niclaus felt the publicity too much for the Son at that age.

“Gary went down 18. And run away to the car, so he didn’t have to talk to reporters for about two years,” he said. “Sports Illustrated said they wanted to do the story. We said,” No coverage, none of that. “They put it right on the cover. It was not nice they did.”

Nickulaus also thought that publicity was over the top when his grandson, GT, made ace in a parent.

“These are the kinds of things you really need to try to avoid with the kids,” he said. “It’s hard for them. He’s even today. Charlie is a nice little player. He has a beautiful little golf swing. Does he want to follow his father? Do he understand what is happening?”

Woods was in the Detroit area last summer when his son qualified for American Junior Amateur. Charlie attracted the largest gallery, she said it was 10 times bigger than a normal crowd for that event. Or were they there to see her father?

Ickulaus also knows that feeling.

Jack Nickuaus is considered a way in which he lived his life from the course as much as he performed on it. Mercer Bags describe in detail what Jack – and his wife and children – like a rope.

“Gary would always say,” I wonder how many people will look out to watch that my father looks at me? “Nickus said with his calm.

He doesn’t know much about Charlie Woods, except what he occasionally sees on television, and Niclaus is impressed with swing. Many juniors have big swings. Depth today at the highest levels of golf is obvious long before these kids start getting kind cars.

Charlie Woods made her TV debitant at 11. years in the Championship in the PNC, a tournament steamed by large champions with a family member. The son grown, matured and, after two years, Woods allowed Charlie to join him in conversations for existence, as well as the rest of the field. And he handled so good.

It is not uncommon for the sons to follow their fathers in golf, but the success is less frequent. Old Tom and Young Tom Morris (each won the British open four times) were the exception.

Art lets children discover the joy of games and motivation for the competition.

“My kids played because they wanted to play, not because I wanted to play,” Niclaus said. “It was a kind of my reign. Don’t play golf because of me, play golf because that’s what you want to do. They wanted to do.

“Then they understood over a period of time, they will not come to where they want to come, and they decided to do other things.”

Woods, 16, won team taylormade invitation on Wednesday in Streamsong Resort.

Woods was known for dominance in each age group while working in the records of records with three direct American juniors and three direct amateur. As the underlines are going, it is up there with its 142 in a row in a row, and its victory of 15 shots in the US open.

He did not try to qualify for his first American open until he was free from the first phase when he was 16 years old. On Lake Merced in San Francisco and failed to reach the pebble beach for the American beach.

Charlie Woods tried two American open qualification and had yet to get out of the first phase. He’s trying. It is compensated. His father, in all accounts, gives him space in a culture in which it often does not allow for it.

“I’m just always reminding him,” You’re just you, “,” the forest said in the first place of the PNC. “Charlie is Charlie. Yes, he’s my son. He will have a last name and he will be part of sports. But it will only be alone. I will always encourage it to present him on my name, cut my own way and your way has your own way and your way. “

Father knows better than anyone is not a small task. Each time Charlie plays a junior tournament, cameras – usually phones – certainly follow, especially when the forest is around.

“In this day and age where you have so many different … they are all basically the media with all phones,” they say that Woods. “Constantly recorded and people look at him, they are just part of his generation, and that is part of the world that he has to maneuver. I’m trying to make the best job I can as a parent. I’m always for him.

“But at the end of the day, I just want it just to be alone and has his life.”

As a son of Tiger Woods, it could be stricter than golf himself.
