Ravens tight end Mark Andrews made his first public comments since last week’s loss to the Bills.
Andrews chose not to speak to reporters after losing a fumble and dropping a two-point pass in the fourth quarter of Baltimore’s 27-25 loss in the divisional round of the playoffs. Andrews’ comments appeared in an Instagram post Thursday afternoon.
“It is impossible to be adequate express how I feelAndrews wrote. “I’m absolutely blown away by what happened on Sunday. I am devastated for my teammates, coaches and Ravens fans. I put every bit of my being into playing at the highest possible level because I love my team and the game of football like nothing else. That’s why it took me until now to collect my thoughts and speak publicly about it. Although the shock and disappointment is unlike anything I’ve felt before, I refuse to let the situation define me. I promise that this adversity will only strengthen me and spur us on as we move forward.”
Andrews thanked the people who have supported him over the past few days, including them who donated to the Breakthrough T1D charity that Andrews has supported for some time.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said this week the team wouldn’t be in the playoffs without Andrews and called the tight end a huge part the future of the team.
