Sharjah Warriors batsman Jason Roy has a good outing for his team to bat against Desert Vipers in ILT20 2025. The match between the two teams was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (January 22).
Jason Roy was the lone fighter for the team in the game against the Desert Vipers. The England national cricket team’s batting, on the other hand, went in as a super sub for the team as the wickets remained shaky. He made sure to give the team something to fight for with the ball with a good effort.
During the match, Jason Roy had a nasty clash with his sparring partner Harmeet Singh. It was in the 13th over of the innings, on the 4th ball, when the England batsman was bowled by Dan Lawrence, who played his length to point. He quickly took the first run, looking to take the second.
However, in the second run, he had a nasty collision with Harmeet Singh as both the batsmen rushed towards each other. Both Jason Roy and Singh rose quickly to return to the crease and then asserted themselves.

Coming to the match, Desert Vips continued their golden form with bat and ball in ILT20. Sharjah Warriors had a terrible outing with the bat. They continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and were left reeling at 30 for five. It was then that super sub Jason Roy (30*) played a fighting hand for the team despite wickets falling at the other end.
Jason Roy’s battling innings with the bat led Sharjah Warriors to just 19 runs and passed the 85-run mark. For Desert Vipers, Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a four-wicket haul.
The Desert Vipes made an amazing effort in chasing down the target. Fakhar Zaman (71*) hit a magical half-century and along with Alex Hales (23*) added 95 runs to take his team home. With this victory, they confirmed that they passed in the final.
Sharjah Warriors skipper Tim Souths spoke about the defeat, admitting it was not their best effort. But he was hopeful that they would turn things around in the next game. Speaking after the game, he explained:
“It always hurts, it’s always tough when you’re six for 30-odd but the beauty of this tournament is we’ve got a couple of days off, dust ourselves off and meet these guys again. T20 cricket can be one-sided. Times and hopefully we’ll sort it out in a few days.”
“When you have 90 on the board you need to get early wickets but you need to get a couple of dangerous batsmen and then you are as good as done.”
