Nascar Cup winners, losers of Kansas after Kyle Larson’s third win of the season


A look at the winners and losers of Sunday’s cup race on Kansas Speedway.

Winners

Kyle Larson – The perfect weekend, with a maximum of 61 points. He started on the pole, won both phases, earned the bonus point for the fastest round of the race, led 221 of 267 laps and the points ahead. Larson’s victory was his third of the season, the earliest he achieved three wins in a cup season.

Christopher Bell – His runner-up result gives him a top 10 out of five of the last six races.

Ryan Blaney – His third place finishes him four top five races in the last five races.

Chase Briscoe – He finished fourth. This is his fourth place in fourth place in the first 12 races of the season.

John Hunter Nemechek – His end point of 10th place gives him back-to-back-to-10s. It was also his fourth top -10 of the season, which took off his career from last season.

Losers

Brad Keselowski – Blow a tire while running second and finishing 36th. This is the third time in the last five races he has placed 30th or worse. Keselowski got a place in the points after Sunday’s race.

Denny Hamlin – A quarter problem ruined the day for Hamlin, who had a quick car. He finished 36th.

AJ Public – His blown engine relegated him to keep in the 38 car field. This is the second weekend in a row that he ended 36th or worse. He has dropped in the points in the last two races of the 15th to 25th.
