Sotto is running for a third and law-limited final term as Pasig mayor
MANILA, Philippines – Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and his slate Giting ng Pasig defend their hold on Pasig as construction magnate and Duterte administration top contractor Sarah Discaya makes a bid for the city’s top post.
Sotto is running for a third and law-limited final term following six years of unprecedented reforms in the local government that have led to massive savings and expanded social services. His other top allies are also defending their positions: Lone District Representative Roman Romulo for a third and final term and Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski for a second term.
Among Giting’s notable candidates for city councilor are reelectionists Angelu de Leon and Pao Santiago, with backgrounds in the entertainment industry, and Romulo scion Simon Romulo Tantoco.
In their earlier campaign sorties, Sotto urged residents to vote straight Giting ng Pasig, in order to maximize his reform agenda and ensure it would last beyond his tenure as chief executive.
