NASCAR Championship weekend moved to Homestead in 2026

Nascar’s championship weekend will return to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2026, the sanction body announced Tuesday morning.

Nascar also announced that it will turn his season final for the Cup, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series that starts next year under “Nascar’s marquis and key markets.”

NBC Sports, which has aired the Cup playoffs and championships since 2015, will do so until 2031.

Phoenix, who has been hosting Nascar’s championship weekend since 2020, will be one of the rotating areas for the season-ending race for each series. NASCAR also announced that Phoenix will be hosting two cup weekends next year and that the second racecourse of the track will be in the third round of the playoffs. Those dates will be announced later.

Ryan Blaney is the only team of Penske driver to score another cup this season, despite having a strong car in several races.

Homestead-Miami Speedway’s championship weekend is November 6-8 in 2026.

Homestead hosted the championship racing for Cup, XFinity and Trucks from 2002-19 before the season final moved to Phoenix.

“Homestead-Miami Speedway has a history of competitive, championship racing that will provide nostalgia to veteran managers and fans and excitement for the new generation of Nascar,” said Ben Kennedy, EVP, chief room and racing innovation officer.

“As we move forward, the rotating model will present new challenges for participants, as well as opportunities for unique venues to host our loyal fans during the NASCAR championship weekend.”

A look at the winners and losers from Sunday’s cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Kyle Larson won the most recent cup race on Homestead and took the checkered flag in March in a 27 lead race. Last fall’s play -off match on Homestead won Tyler Reddick after going third to first on the final round. The last three rounds each had a different leader in that case.

“This place is tremendous,” says Christopher Bell, who finished fourth in that race and watched the lead of the lead in front of him. “This leads to some incredible race.”

He is not the only driver who feels that way.

“It’s just an incredible racetrack,” Larson said of Homestead this season. ‘Definitely the best in all the series in our sport. It’s just nice. This is similar to all the divisions. This is just a cute place. “
