The West Coast Swing continues at Round 3 of the Monster Energy Supercross season at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, as diversity has marked the first two weekends. The first two rounds have produced completely different podiums, with Chase Sexton leading Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson across the line at Anaheim 1 and Eli Tomac winning against Jett Lawrence and Cooper Webb last week in San Diego. Conversely, Julien Beaumer and Jordon Smith have been on the grid for the first two 250 races.
Angel Stadium has hosted Triple Crown races the past two seasons, with Webb (2024) and Sexton (2023) winning, but 2025 returns to the standard two-elimination, main event format. The Triple Crown format was also used in 2019 and 2018, with Webb and Tomac winning, respectively.
And while some of the mystique is missing because this isn’t the season opener, the riders will be as determined to win Anaheim 2 as they were two weeks ago. Southern California was the hotbed of Supercross and that is never far from the minds of the riders. This will be the 85th time Anaheim has hosted a Supercross round.
Five riders have won Anaheim 2 three times, and they’re names any fan of the land will recognize: Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, James Stewart and Ryan Dungey top the list, but there’s one rider who would like to move down the pecking order. . Last week’s winner, Tomac, completes the trio list.
Sexton earned his first Anaheim win in the season opener to resume his championship quest. He lost his lead on lap 1 in San Diego with a crash, but recovered and moved up to within one point of new leader Eli Tomac. In four attempts, he has failed to defend the red plate, but the season is long, and the four riders, Tomac, Sexton, Roczen and Webb, are still fighting against the defending Supercross champion Jett Lawrence, who finished outside. top 10 in the season opener.
Tomac changed the record books again last week with his 53rd career Supercross win. That marked the 11th season he won a race and broke a tie with Stewart for the top spot. He could set another record this week. Tomac will become the first Supercross rider to complete 1,000 laps if he leads seven in A2.
Taking the red plate last week, 32-year-old Tomac is the oldest rider to hold the honor.
While none of the 450 riders have scored multiple podiums in two rounds, Tomac, Roczen and Webb have two top-five finishes.

In the 250 class, Haiden Deegan thought his main rival would be Levi Kitchen, but when that rider was too ill to ride in Anaheim 1, he made a last-minute decision to switch to the East Coast. Beaumer moved up to take Kitchen’s spot and finished ahead of Deegan in the first two rounds of 2025. He has finished behind Deegan Beaumer in both races, losing five points in each, and is 10 off the lead. Deegan hasn’t put the red plate on the front of the bike yet.
Beaumer and Jordon Smith took the podium in the first two 250 rounds; Deegan and Ryder DiFrancesco doubled up in the top five.
As Clinton Fowler WeWentFast.com As he pointed out, the 250 West division has been dominated by teenagers. Last week in San Diego, four of the top five finishers have yet to celebrate their 20th birthday. Beaumer, 18, won the race, a pair of 19-year-olds, DiFrancesco (who finished fifth) and Deegan (third) rounded out the top five, while the youngest of them all, Cole Davies, 17, finished fourth.
