Power was restored at the Madrid-Caja Magica Tennis Complex, and the Madrid Open resumed with a packed shidiul to include the second-ranked IGA Sweetch in the quarter-finals.
Sweetch defeated Diana Shanider-0-5, 6-7 (3), 6-4 goals in the Spanish capital to defend her title.
