When it comes to hitting a bomb, Aldrich Potgieter could get a run for your money this week outside Dallas.
The Potgieter is the current PGA Tour leader in the average distance from driving (324.1 m) entering CJ Cup Byron Nelson on the TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. But 37-year Bobby Massa, one of the four qualifications on Monday, has a serious speed.
Massa is a sports performance coach from Dallas recently becoming one of the top amateur in the world. He came to the quarterfinals of the American Amateur’s American Amateur last summer in Hazelten before falling in the finals of the American middle amateur.
And he guess the bombs – 127 plus mph Swing speed, the speed of the ball in the 1960s.
Massa used to be a burning, five years after graduating from Texas-Arlington. Then he gave up the game, forced on exile on swing types.
“I couldn’t break 90 to save my life,” Massa Golfchannel.com said last year.
The break from the competition led to Mass’s current career. He is now working on Sanders Fit, where his clientele moves from the pro and an elite amateur golfer on the NFL, NBA and MLB players at even president of the USGA Fred. For Massa, everything about unlocking the speed and distance of his golf clients through golf-specific training. Cupall says some people call mass, “Bobby speed.”
Massa received his amateur status in 2019. years, but with a golf bush distance, he was a lot of busy with his day business. His last world tournament was the east western matches in Maridoe last November. He and his wife, Kallay, have an almost two-year-old daughter, Palmer and four-month-old son, Miller, who was born in December 4 two months too soon.
“2024 was definitely the craziest year in my life,” Massa found Mass last December.
This will not be Massin PGA Tour debut. It plays in two previous editions byron Nelson, first in 2013 (MC), and then 2023. (MC). He had averaged 324.8 meters from the TEE two years ago to rank within the 10 best 10 in the vehicle driving for a week.
Massa joins this week field by colleagues on Monday Qualifying Ross Steelman, Nick Watney and Nelson Ledesma. All four received a playoff of 5 for 4 after breaking 67 on Monday at the Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas, where Massa played some in college.
