Nascar unveils 2025 All-Star Race Format

Details for the 2025 Nascar All-Star race at North Wilkesboro Speedway were unveiled on Wednesday morning with the interesting wrinkle of a ‘promoter’s Caution’.

The turn allows for a random yellow flag to be thrown before the round 220 of 250. If the caution of the promoter (which is optional) still has to be used by round 200 and a ‘natural’ yellow flag falls to the round 200, the promoter’s caution will no longer be in the game.

North Wilkesboro Speedway is owned by Speedway Motorsports, whose founder, the late Nascar Hall of Famer Bruton Smith, was a bombastic racetrack promoter who advocated to cast intentional warnings to raise the field and raise the races.

The All-Star race will be held on May 18 and will award $ 1 million to the winner on the 0.625-mile short track.

Other features of the event:

-A new ‘manufacturer showdown’ will hold Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota in a battle for the best combined overall finish in the All-Star race. The teams will be established after the main event has been set up with the last presents manufacturer determining the number of cars per team. The end positions of each manufacturer will be total, and the lowest cumulative score is the winner.

—The All-Star Race will contain traditional competition elements: two heat races to open the starting line-up, open a 100-cloth all-star and set the 250-Round main event (with a competition, on cloth 100).

-The drivers will go from the Open to the All-Star Race main event: The top two Afrounder and the winner of a Nascar.com fan.

—River who won a point race in 2024-25, full-time drivers with a previous All-Star Race victory and full-time former cup champions are qualified for the main event.
