Rams sack Jalen Hurts for safety, Eagles lead 16-15

The Rams scored two defensive points and reduced the gap with Philadelphia to just one point late in the third quarter.

Nose tackle Neville Gallimore and outside linebacker Keir Thomas split a sack on Jalen Hurts in the end zone for a safety, making the score 16-15, Eagles.

Los Angeles punter Ethan Evans set things up with a punt that was bounced and placed on the Philadelphia 4-yard line. While Saquon Barkley ran for 4 yards to the 8, on second-and-6, Hurts was pressured in the pocket and was brought down on Los Angeles’ sixth sack of the game so far.

He was examined for injuries in the medical tent after the previous Philadelphia trip, where he was twisted awkwardly on a second bag. While he was able to get up and hand it off to Barkley on the next play, Hurts was clearly down.

This may have been why Hurts had such a hard time moving into the end zone and taking the sack that led to the safety.

With six sacks on Sunday, the Rams have now picked up 15 sacks in their first two postseason games.
