Ryan Garcia kicks things off by promoting his rematch with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz in May. “A tougher match than Hani.” In this case, Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) may be right. Garcia is stating the facts.
Pitbull will be a tougher fight for Ryan than Hani, because this guy has an iron chin and he can hit. He doesn’t hang around and try to win like Hani was about to do.
Cruz was defeated on December 5, 2021 by a 12-round knockout of Gervonta Davis. He was unscathed in that fight, losing a unanimous decision.
In his eighth-round knockout victory over Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on March 30 of last year, Cruz took a number of heavy punches that could have destroyed many fighters, including Hani. In Cruz’s last fight, he was knocked out by Jose ‘Rio Valenzuela, losing a 12-round split decision on August 3.
Cruz’s three losses
– Jose ‘Rio’ Valenzuela
– Gervonta Davis
– Luis Montano Alvarez
Ryan will fight former WBA Light Welterweight Champion ‘Pitbull’ Cruz in May in a dual title fight at New York’s Times Square. The event will be shown on DAZN PPV. Hani will fight Jose Ramirez on the same card in a fight to set up a rematch with Ryan in October.
Honey was a no-contest for Ryan in their April 20 fight last year, and the only reason a rematch planned for October was possible was Kingery’s failed PED test. One-sided fights like Hani-Garcia usually have no rematches.
Cruz (26-3-1, 18 KOs) has a good chin and will constantly rush Ryan throughout the fight. Pitbull doesn’t try to hit constantly like Honey because he’s not that type of fighter. He entertains and never bores the crowd.
Honey’s two fights with George Kambossos Jr. and his feud with Regis Prograis could not be seen in all his handling. After being thrown out in the seventh, he had a lot to do with Ryan. Surprisingly, even though umpire Harvey penalized Doc Garcia for striking out in the seventh inning, Haney didn’t deal with what he was doing.
Ryan won by scores of 112-112, 114-110 and 115-109.
I will bring an explosive fight in my comeback fight.
The pit bull has always been considered a strong opponent.
Tougher match then Haney tbh
