Dan Quinn says Bobby Wagner will play Saturday

It was a good sign for the Leaders that linebacker Bobby Wagner returned to practice on Thursday and coach Dan Quinn provided some good news during his final press conference before Saturday’s game against the Lions.

Quinn told reporters that Wagner will play despite an ankle injury that led to him being included in the non-participation list in training on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wagner started every game in his first season with the Commanders. He had 132 tackles, two sacks, four passes defended, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in the regular season and had eight tackles, half a sack and a fumble recovery against the Bucs in the opener.

Quinn also said there is no concern about kicker Zane Gonzalez’s hip. The team held kicking drills this week, but Gonzalez was a full participant in the drills.
