Casey Mears are planning to return the NASCAR Cup at Martinsville with Garage 66 team

Casey Mears, who last competed in the Nascar Cup series in 2019, is scheduled to return his series on March 30 Martinsville Race for Garage 66, the team announced on Thursday.

Mears, who turned 47 years old on Wednesday, won the 2007 Coca-Cola 600 in a Cup career stretching from 2003-19 and started 489 series.

All three national series chase during the first 1.5-mile weekend of the season.

“I’m happy to be back in a race car and look forward to returning to Martinsville, one of my favorite tracks,” Mears said in a statement. “I appreciate Carl (Long, co-owner of Garage 66) to work with me to make it happen; He is a respected, wonderful guy who worked hard to experience the long life in the sport. I am excited to have Hitchgo, Mosby’s drag and transport, and COble Enterprises on board while we left at the 500 NASCAR CUP series. “

Said in a statement for a long time: ‘If Casey Mears drive a garage 66 car, it’s a proud day for our organization. He was driven for the elite of Nascar, such as Chip Ganassi Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing. Adding Garage 66 to the list means a lot to me and everyone who helped build our team.

‘Casey and I rode with me for the first time many years ago and he always treated me and our competitors with respect on and off the track. He comes from a historical race family, but it is not something he boasts about. He always takes time for everyone, which is an indication of his character. I like to have the opportunity to work with good people, especially if they drive fast. I am excited to come to Martinsville with Casey and have a successful weekend for Hitchgo, Mosby’s drag and transport, and COble Enterprises. “
