Kyle Larson, William Byron adds NASCAR truck racing to their schedule

Kyle Larson will host two upcoming Nascar Craftsman Truck Series racing, and William Byron will do one truck race for Spire Motorsports, the team announced on Tuesday.

Larson is scheduled to be in the no. 07 to compete for Spire at Homestead-Miami Speedway and April 11 on Bristol.

Byron is scheduled to be in the truck on March 28 in Martinsville.

Hendrickcars.com will sponsor the trucks in that race.

Christopher Bell was not the only driver who left Cota with reason to feel good about the race.

“One of the most enjoyable things of a Craftsman Truck Series team is to have the transition from Hendrick Motorsports and Hendrick Automotive Group,” Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports, said in a statement from the team.

“We had all their drivers in our trucks from time to time, and to have two guys in William (Byron) and Kyle (Larson), who won the races with us in the seat, the team definitely gives a little more Pep in our step. It also increases the bar for those racing to win or bust. You don’t come up with the guys to do something other than win. ‘

Larson last ran in the truck series in 2023 and won in North Wilkesboro for Spire Motorsports. Larson started three wins in 15 career truck.

Byron won eight career trucks. His most recent victory was in Martinsville with Spire Motorsports in 2022.
