Can Shakur steal the show in Saudi Arabia?

Shakur Stevenson says people want to be called “the best fighter in the world” when they watch him defend his WBC lightweight title against Floyd Schofield on the February 22 card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month.

The fight will be shown live on DAZN PP, and many fans will be watching. This is Shakur’s big chance to put on a show and steal the thunder from the main event between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitri Bivol.

“Best in the World”

I am in charge. I don’t have a close fight. You watch me go round one, two, three, four, five, six, and then there comes a point where somebody wants to finish it. They want to knock it off, or there will be a lot of criticism,” Shakur Stevenson said. Second exitresponding to critics of the fighting style, calling it “boring”.

“I sit in the pocket a lot. My last fight (Artem Harutyunyan), I sat in the pocket. If he comes in without a problem, I’m going to take him in his place,” Shakur said of Floyd Schofield. “I fight with all those people. I will fight Ryan. I’ll fight Devin or Theo. Any of these people. If those people want to fight me, I will fight them.

Shakur “I know I’m the best fighter in the world, and I can’t wait to prove it,” Stevenson said.

It is not true that Shakur “had a lot in his pocket” during the war. He only does that when faced with weak opposition. He doesn’t stay in the pocket when faced with opposition with skill and power, which is why he gets criticized.

In his last fight against Artem Harutyunyan, Stevenson was weak and slow and stayed in the pocket. In his previous match against Edwin de los Santos, Stevenson was on his bike throughout the 12-round fight and was booed by the fans.

The fighters Shakur wants to fight aren’t interested in fighting him. He said he wants to fight Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Those people don’t fight him because he doesn’t mix and moves a lot. That’s why Stevenson didn’t get it from Gervonta Davis and Vassily Lomachenko.

“I’d love to fight Tank. I’d love to fight Gervonta Davis. I think that’s the biggest and best fight in boxing. Whenever these big fights come up, I’m ready to fight anybody and everybody,” Stevenson said.

Turki Al Sheik could entice Tank to fight Shakur, but he’s going to take a huge discount for that fight because the Baltimore native has no interest in fighting him.
