MANILA, Philippines – Some schools suspended classes for Tuesday, February 25, to mark the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. previously converted February 25 this year into a special working day. This move has been criticized as Marcos’ means of “downplaying” the bloodless revolution that toppled his father, Ferdinand E. Marcos, in 1986.

Here are the schools without classes on Tuesday:

• Adamson University
• De La Salle Philippines (all schools in the system)
• Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae-Philippines Schools Network (Maryhill School of Theology, Saint Louis College-Cebu, Saint Louis College-San Fernando City, Saint Louis University, Saint Mary’s University, University of Saint Louis)
• General de Jesus College
• Immaculate Conception Academy Greenhills
• Imus Institute
• Kalookan Diocese Schools Association (De La Salle Araneta University, Immaculate Conception Academy of Malabon, La Consolacion College Caloocan, Notre Dame of Greater Manila, San Jose Academy, St. Gabriel Academy, St. James Academy, St. Mary’s Academy)
• Saint Pedro Poveda College
• St. Joseph’s College (Quezon City and Rodriguez)
• St. Scholastica’s Academy Pampanga
• University of Santo Tomas
• Xavier School San Juan
