Alyansa senatorial slate, Marcos campaign in Iloilo City

Iloilo is the second most vote-rich province in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his favored senatorial slate greeted supporters at the Vera Park in the Gaisano Capital Grounds, Iloilo City on Thursday, February 13.

The province of Iloilo is a significant voter base and key destination for the Marcos-backed coalition as it is the hometown of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos’ father, Manuel Araneta Jr., who was born in the capital city.

The province has over 1.6 million voters, making it the second largest vote-rich province in Western Visayas after Negros Occidental which has 1.9 million voters, based on data from the Commission on Elections.

However, a large bloc of the province voted in favor of then-presidential candidate Leni Robredo over Marcos in 2022.
