“I think it’s the epitome of femininity and abundance and sex appeal and beauty. When I was about 17, I said, ‘Fuck it,’ and I started living the way I wanted to live in my body. And you know what? Most people I saw my body as positively as I did.”
I’ve had many lovers over the years (many of whom were very attractive) who treat me like a queen and can’t get enough of my body. I’ve found friends who don’t buy into diet culture and admire my beauty for what it is. I can be fashionable, trendy, and cool like no one else. People don’t make fun of me or judge me because I live my life the way movies and ads always told me they would. Fatphobia certainly exists, but in my experience, the vast majority of the time, it’s a media/internet thing, not a real-life thing. Fatphobia usually comes from a place where someone is trying to sell you something or project their fears onto you. I’m very comfortable in my own skin, and people like that about me. “They are attracted to me because I love my body, not in spite of it.”
