The Ravens are in complete control, leading the Steelers 21-0 at halftime

The Ravens and Steelers have played plenty of close games over the years, but Saturday’s Wild Card game in Baltimore couldn’t be one of them.

Lamar Jackson threw for two touchdowns, Derrick Henry ran for another, and the Steelers managed just 59 yards through the first 30 minutes of play. That adds up to a 21-0 lead for the Ravens and a steep mountain for the Steelers to climb if they want to continue their season.

The Ravens drove 95 yards for a touchdown the first time they got the ball and then had a 13-yard touchdown play that involved nothing but running against an exhausted Steelers defense. After forcing a penalty on the two-minute warning, the Ravens ran two more plays before the Steelers took a timeout before their third down. It looked like the Ravens might be content with ending the clock with a two-goal lead, but they got the ball back in the air after the break and Jackson completed six straight passes to extend the lead to 21 points.

Jackson is 13 of 15 for 144 yards through the air and has run 11 times for 64 yards. Henry has 13 carries for 100 yards in his first Ravens playoff game and the Steelers’ attempt to slow them down by defensive end Cam Heyward going out with injury before halftime won’t help.

Their offense wasn’t any better and it’s fair to wonder what kind of changes will come to Pittsburgh if the second half is more of the same. It will be their fifth loss in a row and their offense has gone mute for the entire round.
