Robert Kraft: NFL will have more international audience with ESPN-NFL media contract

The owner of the Patriot Robert Kraft sees the contract that will make the NFL media part of the ESPN and give NFL 10 percent ownership ESPN as another step towards global league growth ambitions.

“I think we hooked up with the best partners we can have,” Kraft told the NFL network. “It will help us exhibit more homes, More international audiences. Strategically, we need to grow our salary cap and we can only do this to – if we want to keep peace, we must grow the audience. This transaction helps us do that. “

The NFL is about as more popular as each sports league can come to the United States, which means that the NFL owners were increasingly looking at abroad when considering how to grow their business. Kraft emphasized growth abroad when discussed partnership with ESPN and her home company, Disney.

“This is a way to expand our audience. We did so much,” Kraft said. “I don’t think there is a company like Disney and ESPN in sports, all sports. We have to expose more people and greater variety of people. We give them what the best content is and give us the largest operational company to grow our audience globally.”

NFL is looking at a constant increase in the number of games playing outside the United States, and potentially even putting teams or more teams into Europe, because it aims to become a significant TV in the rest of the world. With each offer, the NFL makes it, and global ambitions are the front and center.
