Chase Elliott will again decorate his number 9 Napa Chevrolet by a child to pay attention and to raise money for children’s health care from Atlanta.
This is the ninth edition of the “Desi9n to Drive” program by the Chase Elliott Foundation. “Desi9n to Rive” raised almost half a million dollars for children’s healthcare from Atlanta.
Elliott will run the special scheme on his Hendrick Motorsports car on Echopark Speedway, the track previously known as Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“Initially (the program) started with shoes and really Napa’s involvement honestly took it to the next level,” Elliott said. “It was rewarding, but I think more than anything it had an influential difference in people’s lives.”
Elliott’s car and uniform for the June 28 race contains a design created by 11-year-old Rhealynn Mills, selected under submissions of patients at the Aflac cancer and blood disorders of children.
She was diagnosed with metastatic osteosarcoma in October 2022. She amputated her right leg, one of the 19 operations she underwent.
Her design illustrates her desire to be a nurse and contains symbols of hope and healing, including golden childhood cancer libbons, stetoscopes, heart monitors and the words “Cure Cancer” and “Healing Kids Like Me” on the no. 9 -Motor.
“I think she has an example of an example of the struggle and showed the struggle, and the attitude she had throughout the process is very important,” Elliott said about the design of Mills. “I am excited to meet her here and also spend time with her family. I’ve said it before, it’s not just her, the whole family and what they go through the process, it’s a lot of weight on many different people. ‘
Elliott said that such interactions are special to him.
“I say that a lot, if you can help make 1% of someone’s day a little better in that situation, I think it’s worth the time,” he said. “I think it’s always a good memory. Of course, we also have a lot of going on, and everyone has their things in their own lives. I think there are many lessons in all this.
“I think one of the biggest people I took is that you just don’t really know what someone goes through as you walk past them on the street. I think it’s just a very important thing to remember. If people can take it away from this, can you see these people or family or her and have no idea or not?
“To show just a degree of respect and hopefully improve their days and give them an experience they may not have, whether it is a good fans or not, I think, is a good thing. We are just trying to help. ‘
Racing fans can be the online fundraising at Desi9ntodrive.org To win a part of Elliott’s Race-Worn Atlanta Uniform, or measure a VIP Race Day and greet experience with Elliott.
